Last 12 months Charts on Various Chateau Margaux Vintages

Last 12 months Charts on Various Chateau Margaux Vintages

I hope you made it into 2016 in one piece. As promised this is part of a series that Im sending you on First growths and their performance over the past 12 months.  This one is about Chateau Margaux.

I have selected vintages going back to 1990 and randomly selected some charts for you to see how they performed over the course of a year.

Margaux was a steady investment in 2015, excellent growth from the 1990 vintage of more than 15%.

If you noticed there is a pattern emerging among the younger vintages from around 2008/2009 up to current. They generally had the lowest gains.  As the market is again on the rise, it is these young vintages that will come into play as an opportunity for investment.  We know that the en primeur campaigns from 2011 were unsuccessful so there is likely to be bargaining power in the younger vintages.

Have a great day ahead!
