Below is a nice article about the renovation of the Champagne House – Perrier Jouet that you may be interested in reading.
Despite making several recommendations in Perrier Jouet in the last few years we have not seen as exciting growth like theĀ first growth Bordeaux wines. Nevertheless this exquisite Champagne has remained very stable.
Even a wine that remains stable is a good investment as you are protecting yourself from any downturn in other markets you may be invested in.
I always recommend having a diverse portfolio with wines from different regions to ensure you maximise on any particular market if it suddenly starts going up for any reason.
I’ve seen it happen over and over, where one market booms and then a sudden market shift in a short space of time. If you are diversified then you have better opportunity to gain some growth on shifting markets.
The Champagne market has been slow but steady over the last 2-3 years. We have seen some Champagnes appreciate as much as 15% in 12 months and some that haven’t moved at all. It really pays to be diversified.
