Wine & Spirits
Investment Report
October 2021
Another strong month for the wine market, especially the Bordeaux First and Second Growth Chateaux.
As asset prices increase around the world, the wine market follows the trend and is starting to grow at a pace that we saw back in 2005 when mainland Chinese investors came in aggressively buying up stocks of top fine and rare wine.
Asia begins to open back up following a two-year pandemic, this exciting growth is expected to continue. As F&B outlets prepare to open up again.
Asset prices rising globally with inflation worries and cheap money contribute to the effects of this growth spurt.
This month over 50% of wines valued went up in value, versus only 3.4% that went down.
Bordeaux market performed superbly, with 2.29% growth in one month.
The Crypto market has also been rallying excessively this month, with Bitcoin reaching a high of $62,757 for one Bitcoin. There could be a large pullback this week. Be careful entering a market at such a high, last time BTC hit $64,000 it came crashing down to $30,000. The reason for the latest rally is the first Bitcoin ETF is set to debut on Monday/Tuesday. Hence the growth does make more sense as more money is likely to enter the Crypto space. Check out BoozCoin.com and sign up to get in on the ICO launch.
Stock markets remain buoyant, although have seen some dips lately. They continue to rebound almost as quickly as the Crypto space. Confidence in the recovery of the world’s economy is still high, yet there is uncertainty around this topic. In reality, it is impossible to call the speed of a global economic recovery as pandemic fears wear off.
Oil prices continue to rally at $83 dollars/barrel. Despite the rhetoric from governments and corporations as they attempt to move into greener energy.

If you are selling wine,
Champagne has a lot of interest, same with the top Bordeaux. But the top Bordeaux will be a hot commodity for a while if you can get your hands on them, dont let them go so easily.
If a wine is in the “for sale” section of your portfolio it could already be sold and re-allocated to new wine. A liquidation form must be completed before placing a wine for sale to ensure it is not re-allocated.
What are the best investment wines to buy now?
First growth high-rated vintages although hard to find, will give some excellent growth over the next 1-2 years. Second growth wines are in high demand but they will appreciate later as the market runs dry of first growths.
Champagne and Rhone Valley are much lower entry points for investment. But they can be a longer-term investment return, if you are prepared to wait, the growth can be excellent.
