Wine Recommendation – Château Latour 1998

Wine Recommendation – Château Latour 1998

We hope you had a brilliant weekend! We have some incredible news to help take the edge of your Monday morning! Not only have we managed to secure our wine recommendation of July we gained these cases at an extraordinary price!

Château Latour originates from Pauillac and is renown for being one of the best wines from the premier Cru classification (first growth). Wine critic Clive Coates once stated that ‘Latour is the yardstick for fine claret’ and we couldn’t agree more.

Wine Recommendation of July 2008

The wine is Château Latour and the vintage is 1998. Still in their original wooden cases with perfect labeling, we are offering each case of twelve bottles for just £2350. However do hurry to secure your order as we only have limited stock available.

Clive Coates who is one of the most influential wine critics of today, back in June 1999 he declared that the Château Latour 1998 “has a very good grip [much like] an iron fist in a velvet glove.’ He believes that this is a great wine investment as it could appreciate well with age.”

The Market

Our team of experts envisage an appreciation of 15% over the next 6-12 months. They have already seen cases where this wine is trading over £2600 per case. Our trading abilities to move large quantities at a time, allow for us to bargain with sellers at a low price.

Robert Parker, who has been deemed as the most influential critic for French wines in the world of today, rated the Latour 98 a flawless 91 points out of a possible 100. He tasted the wine in 1999 and he said ‘it is refined, elegant offering with a good finish.’ He anticipated maturity to be 2007-2025.

This wine was recommended by us in August 2005 at just £875 a case where we envisioned 15% per annum growth. However growth rose to 35% per year, one of our most successful (and favourite) recommendation at Sure Holdings.

Latour is a solid performer for returns on investment and this is should stand proud in your portfolio. With the lack of availability of this Latour we expect you to see some returns on this recommendation within six months. Hold it for at least three years and the potential for you to generate profits could be tremendous.

Christie’s in New York set three world records when auctioning historic Château Latour vintages in Los Angeles. They sold a case of Latour 1928 at $47,000 and twelve bottles of 1961 for $51,000. If you can keep your Latour 98 for that length of time, who knows, you could be looking at similar results!
