Mouton Rothschild Vintage 2009 BUY Recommendation

Mouton Rothschild Vintage 2009 BUY Recommendation

Dear Friends and Clients,

I have a brilliant wine to recommend for your esteemed wine investment portfolio.

We were only able to secure a small parcel of this wine so it really is a limited offer. The reason it was really hard to find was because of its price, because it’s a blockbuster vintage, the market prices are rather tight. You can buy the wine in higher quantities but not at this price level.

The reason we managed to pick it up for such a good price is because the firm I bought it for is closing down their business. Two of the partners had a fall out so they decided to go their separate ways.  Hence letting go of some stock at very good prices and this was a steal.

The provenance is excellent since the supplier had originally obtained the stock direct from the Chateau when the wine was produced.  When it was released during en primeur the wine was priced as high as 8000 pounds a case. Currently the market price is around 4800 to 5000 pounds a case. Which means you can invest in something that was valued 66% higher just five years ago back in 2010.

The vintage we are recommending is a 2009 and the wine is Mouton Rothschild. Just let me remind you how good this wine is and why the Mouton brand is world renown. The 2009 Vintages in Bordeaux were exceptional and a lot of high ratings were awarded to them, this Mouton was given 99 points from Robert Parker. He will surely taste it again in the future with a high probability that he will give it 100 points as it matures in the bottle.

I want to quote something Parker said in his last tasting on this 09 Mouton: “This could turn out to be a candidate for perfection in another 8-10 years. It will drink well for 30-50 years, but will always be much more approachable and charming than its 2010 counterpart.”

Not only does Parker think it’s great but Jancis Robinson gave it 19 out of 20 and James Suckling gave it 98-99 points. Both are famous wine critics and well respected in the industry.

The price that I can secure for you is 4725 Pounds/case in its original wooden case.

In terms of market potential, if you look at the Mouton 2005 vintage it has risen in the last 12 months 16%, in part, due to the market which is recovering and also from Robert Parker’s fresh rating review.

The growth potential for this 2009 vintage is excellent. I envisage 10-5% growth per year over the next five years. My target price for this vintage is 6000 pounds/case. I do not see any reason why it can not achieve that price and let me tell you why:

First of all the current global stock markets are in correction territory, they are way over priced. As the stock market falls, we will see more money coming in to the wine market. We are already seeing this since July when there was a small correction on the markets.

After the correction in the stock markets it will take a year for the market to recover, the global economy should enter a bullish pattern in the next 2-3 years at which point we will see wines increase sharply.

The U.S buyers have finally started buying first growth wines again. This tells me that they have come to terms with the price levels of first growth wines and its clear they see the current prices with value.

The first growth market looks undervalued to me at the present time. It’s a big opportunity to buy these blockbuster vintages at a low price now before they increase to levels that you wont want to pay for investment later on. Once these blockbuster wines hit the high prices they usually keep on climbing.

As mentioned we only have a small number of cases and its such a small parcel, not everyone will be able to participate in this recommendation. So please do act fast!

With kind regards

James Pala
