The Markets Opinion

Steven Spurrier was hailed the ‘man with the best shoes’ in the wine industry, tasted the Mouton 2002 at en primeur and his notes on the wine were as follows:

“Huge colour, really wonderful smooth, velvety depth, a thoroughly hedonistic nose, voluptuous and seductive fruit, shows excellent ripeness and opulence, but with ripe tannins for balance. To drink between 2008-2025”.

After which it was given a Decanter awards. Notes on the tasting award were:

“Big, meaty, violet bouquet, very ripe concentration, quite exotic. Big, plummy flavours, an explosion of ripe fruit on the palate. Very seductive, chocolatey and exotic. An impressive wine. Drink between 2009 and 2017”.
